Adaptive Guided Tour of deCordova Sculpture Park

Join members of the Boston-area FTD community and staff of the MGH FTD Unit for a private verbal description tour of the deCordova Sculpture Park. Explore the outdoor sculptures and learn about the artists behind them. This in-person event is a great way to spend time outdoors, surrounded by art and nature.

Verbal description tours at deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum provide multisensory access to select sculptures and exhibitions through detailed verbal descriptions and tactile exploration (when possible). Led by trained museum educators, these tours invite participants to experience art through vivid narrative, touchable materials, and conversation, fostering a deeper understanding of the artworks and the environment of the Sculpture Park.

After the 45-minute tour, we’ll gather for lunch. Bring your own lunch or order takeout from the Twisted Tea Cafe on the museum grounds.

In the event of very inclement weather (e.g., nor’easter, thunderstorm), the tour will be rescheduled for Thursday, June 11th.

All are welcome! We encourage patients, caregivers, friends and family to join us!
