Impact of our Research

We have increasingly been performing studies of care partners and caregivers, including studies of caregiver wellbeing, sources of stress or resilience in caregivers, and advanced care planning for care partners or caregivers of patients at all stages of dementia. We have performed preliminary studies to evaluate the use of a behavior management training program to better equip caregivers to manage challenging behaviors at home. We also have a new study in which we work with mild stage patients and care partners to better understand the experience of couples soon after diagnosis is to develop an evidence-based program to promote resilience
